Windows 11 was announced to be released later in 2021, according to CEO and chairman Satya Nadella at the Microsoft Build 2021 developer conference. This upgrade is meant to be the successor of the already popular Windows 10 released in 2015. A lot of speculations have been around this upgrade by Microsoft.

Is Windows 11 update available now?

Windows 11 is available as a free upgrade to compatible Windows 10 devices through Windows Update, which is true as I installed the all-new operating system and have been testing for almost a month now. As already stated, the upgrade came with Windows Update. It was available as a stable version on the 31st of July, 2021. Still, for some reason, I was unable to install it till the 1st of August, 2021.

As of writing this article, the operating system runs smoothly, and noticeable improvements have been made to improve micro-interactions and thus elevate the overall experience and feel of this already well-establish OS.

With rounded corners and pastel colors, Windows 11 has a clean and modern interface. The most noticeable change will be the new location of the Taskbar, accompanied by a redesigned Start Menu. The user interface is more refined and functional than prior Windows versions.

Yes, Windows can now run Android apps natively. You can also sideload the apps you want to run on your computer. And both Intel and AMD CPUs would be able to run the Android apps. Windows 11 will also include an Amazon-powered App Store for Android apps, eliminating the need to sideload APKs manually.

2

Widgets

The new Windows 11 has widgets, which are remarkably similar to those found in macOS Monterey. You can now check the weather, news, stock prices, and scores in the widgets section. You may also make the widgets area more personal by customizing it.

Redesigned File Explorer

The File Explorer in Windows 11 has been revamped to look more modern. A context menu, new modern icons, and a new command bar at the top are included.

4

Faster Windows Updates

Microsoft already fulfills this promise because two updates have been made as of the time of this recording. As stated during the unveiling, Windows 11 would have a significantly faster and smoother updating procedure. Background installation procedures are supported in Windows 11, making updates faster than before. Furthermore, the new updates will be 40% smaller than previous versions, saving us data and time.

5

Integrated Microsoft Teams

Microsoft has opted to integrate the Teams app into Windows 11 after a year of working from home. With the release of Windows 11, Microsoft Teams will also be redesigned. And in my case, this came with the most recent update last week on my PC.

Windows has undergone a significant overhaul. Windows 11 introduces a slew of new features across the board. A new Microsoft Store is included with Windows 11. Microsoft created the new Store app from the ground up. It now supports apps written in Win32,.NET, UWP, Xamarin, Electron, React Native, Java, and Progressive Web Apps, among other platforms. It now has themes and extensions for the Microsoft Edge browser as well. The Microsoft Store in Windows 11 has a new, streamlined user interface that makes navigation a breeze.

Who can upgrade to Windows 11?

Though, the article released by Microsoft claims the following:

new windows specification from microsoft

The truth and how to get the update.

The truth is that although the specification above is from Microsoft, I haven’t seen a PC with any later than an 8th-gen CPU get the update via Windows update. If your PC has this capability and you have not received the updated yet, you may need to tweak a few settings to get the update now. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program and click Get Started. Log into your account, and in your insider setting, choose the Beta Channel, which is the recommended setting, and restart your PC. Check for updates, and the update should be available for download and installation.

My Take.

Overall, this new OS from Microsoft is a massive improvement and a leap towards making Microsoft Windows a better and more reliable operating system. And my take is that the update is worth the try, especially if you like the look and feel of Mac OS but cannot afford it for a reason or so. That is all, for now, guys, do let us know your thought and feel about this new development in the world of Operating systems for personal computers.
